Take .txt out of your plist, subclass [NSDocumentController runModalOpenPanel:forTypes:] to add "txt" to the types it can open, and (I think; I haven't done this) [NSDocument fileNameExtensionForType:saveOperation:] for save - if not, that's a starting point._______________________________________________
