If you can use the Xcode 4.4 beta, then you can define away this mistake entirely:
NSDictionary *dict = @{
kUnitsKey : [NSNumber numberWithDouble:units],
kValueKey : [NSNumber numberWithDouble:value],
kIsMetricKey : (isMetric ? @YES : @NO)
};
