More info:
I have another project that I tested (also not signed), and I don't get the crash there. However, it is a NSDocument based app, so I am not calling the NSPanel code myself, it is taken care of. The app that has the crash is CoreData based and I implemented my own openPanel code, following the Apple sample code.
