This is an elemental question that could have been answered by reading the NSArray documentation: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundation/Classes/NSArray_Class/NSArray.html
You could either maintain a counter, or you could call -indexOfObject: (or -indexOfObjectIdenticalTo:), or you could use -enumerateObjectsUsingBlock: instead of a for( in ) loop.
