NSSearchField(Cell) changes size with typing

… and I can't stop it. Argh.
There is nothing expressed in my code which addresses the searchField's size methods:
– searchTextRectForBounds:
– searchButtonRectForBounds:
– cancelButtonRectForBounds:
This is totally whacky and I'm hoping someone on the list has an immediate "Oh yes, just do x" moment.
