In a previous thread I was using autosavesInPlace and preservesVersions, but the way Cocoa doesn't prevent things from happening in version browser documents added a huge amount to our workload, so we had to step back to the easier 10.4 type autosave, again, NOT our own autosave (this is replacing an old cross-platform autosave scheme).
