The system frameworks are generally pretty leak-free. There are a few known ones (there was some discussion recently about one in NSSpeechSynthesizer) but the odds of your running into them are low.

In general you should assume that any memory leak you find via Instruments is the fault of your app, or maybe some 3rd party library you’re linking with.
