Just to clarify, you don't actually need Apple's permission to use a temporarily entitlement, they work automatically.  What Mike means is that if you use a temporarily entitlement Apple probably won't allow your app on their store, but you can always distribute it yourself.

Due to various Sandbox bugs, we use a temp entitlement allowing access to all files, but at least we still get other benefits of sandboxing (ex: limiting usb, camera, microphone, network, etc. access).
