 Sure. NSLog also eventually calls syslog. I still wouldn’t drop down to syslog for most Cocoa logging needs.

CFBundleGetFunctionPointerForName takes a CFStringRef and if you’re e.g. looking at a .framework or other bundled library, it’ll pick out the right executable for you.
