I'll give it a try and let you know. I already override -viewWillDraw in a related subclass, so it will be easy to do.
My concern is that Mr. Corbin's post specifically suggested overriding -drawRect:, and this might be because AppKit does some of its source list magic in super's drawRect:, which I call first in my -drawRect: override. Doing my stuff in -viewWillDraw might be too early to override AppKit's drawRect: stuff. We'll see.
