Can't find keyplane

Hi all,
I get the following message in Xcode 6.1.1, iOS 8 when I tap a text field with keyboard specified as NumberPad in a xib:
"Can't find keyplane that supports type 4 for keyboard iPhone-Portrait-NumberPad; using 3876877096_Portrait_iPhone-Simple-Pad_Default”
No such message if I specify a numbers and punctuation keyboard.
I get a phone keypad which works fine for input, but I’d like to use the correct NumberPad and eliminate this error message. It happens in both the iPhone 6 simulator and on an actual iPod Touch 5G running the most recent version of iOS 8.
Googling didn’t provide any useful clues (some suggestions for the simulator, but not a device). Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Don
