Yes, that is good advice.  I’m also worried that you’ve interposed this NSMutableDictionary in between your array controller and your actual data model.  Don’t do that.  Bind to the data model directly.

Also, there is a long-standing, still-open Bug 3404770 in NSArrayController KVO.  You might want to read this:
