(Same as iOS style scrollers introduction. )

Snow Leopard was the last with the classic Mac OS resize corner and Aqua scrollers. ( I miss those scrollers. )

Yes it can cause issues if you put controls all edge to edge. That might be part of why Aqua guidelines lean toward a 20point space at the window content view edges.
