I see Quincey already mentioned the article "How Do Bindings Work?" in the Cocoa Bindings Programming Topics.

It's not specific to an array controller.  I think the main things to be aware of with array controllers is that the KVO change dictionary will never contain new or old values and that the value obtained through KVC may be a selection marker (NSMultipleValuesMarker, NSNoSelectionMarker, or NSNotApplicableMarker).
