The debugger doesn't know anything about 'r'.

If I understand correctly, Code::Blocks, that is the IDE of that name, has a bug that hits the same assertion and can be avoided by disabling the symbols browser of that IDE.
I'm not using Code::Blocks and there is no 'Settings' menu item in Xcode.
