A bug report would probably be a good idea. Either FloatingPointType should include arithmetic behavior (along the lines of the integer type protocol), or there should be a protocol that abstracts the arithmetic behavior and Float and Double should conform to it.
BTW, it looks like there’s a 3rd floating point type ‘Float80’ in there. It has the arithmetic operations but *doesn’t* conform to FloatingPointType. That might be an oversight, too.
