If you do that, then you've reset it every time, and that's annoying - users expect it to go back to the last one they used. The suggestion we got from that long-distant WWDC was to set it only if the NSUserDefault wasn't set; that starts it off in a place more relevant to your app than the standard Documents, and gives you normal behavior thereafter.
