Does anyone know whether it’s possible to extend or override the standard Mac font panel (NSFontPanel) across all apps?
I’m guessing the answer is “not without nasty hacks that involve injecting code into all processes”, i.e. the sort of thing that DefaultFolder and other open/save panel utilities do.
Which is a shame, because the font panel is pretty antiquated, and not very useful if you have more than a minimal number of fonts. I’d love to build a better replacement, and I’ll bet designers would love to buy it, but I’m not sure I’m ready to use the abovementioned type of hack.
