Thank you for the correction Ken. That point had slipped my mind– of course the first responder isn’t necessarily going to be the destination for scroll events.

I’ll do that, but I don’t suspect it’s a factor here. I’ve had a few users report the problem, and they don’t seem to have any such software in common.
The one thing that does seem to be a factor is my document window’s drawer (ie: NSDrawer). Although my testers don’t have an exact list of steps to trigger the problem, it seems that interacting with the drawer is necessary. I know drawers are passé, so my fear is that they’re falling into disrepair. This problem has only been reported by users on OSX 10.10.x.
Anyways, I appreciate your reply. I’ll continue to work with my testers and see if I can’t narrow down the cause.
