If you’re going that route, it sure seems like ‘cellClass’ shouldn’t not be called — if it’s not possible to use it, then “deprecated” seems like a mis-description. But perhaps there’s a pattern of old methods to implement that triggers the old behavior, sort of like the way things work in NSDocument.
