I don’t think signing itself makes a difference, but is the app sandboxed? If so, it may not be able to access the user’s login keychain. (I’m not sure of this; I have never written a sandboxed app that accesses the keychain.)

The best place to ask would be the apple-cdsa list on this site, which is for security/crypto topics.
