We already spent many messages dissecting why simply invoking sendmail doesn’t work.

It might work on your machine, because you’ve configured Postfix to route mail properly. It’s not going to work on a stock Mac, because by default Postfix will try to connect directly to the SMTP server at the recipient’s domain, and that server is very unlikely to accept mail from some random computer on the Internet (because spammers.)
