OK, thanks a lot for your advice.
I just thought I'd give it a quick shot, but couldn't figure it out :-)

How can I make Xcode to put an image into the Resources bundle of my screen
saver?
I have googled, found some hints about the "Asset Catalog" and an AppIcon (iOS
only?),
but couldn't figure out how to make my image appear in the sidebar.
BTW: I have also checked the source code of xscreensaver , but could not figure
out how they do it.
