Actually, in the early betas of PS6 it was even more exciting than that; if
you opened an image and did considerable work on it, then double clicked on
it in the Finder again without having saved your edits first, then it would
revert the open window to the saved version, losing you all your changes.
When I reported that, they changed it to the current scheme of simply
ignoring your command to reopen. I would think a window explaining that you
need to open a new view of the file, or open a copy of it (depending on your
purposes) would be helpful, rather than simply ignoring you... or maybe even
offer to to either of the above from radio buttons in the window, for added
convenience.

I thought you were in sick in bed drinking tea... what kind of tea is that?
