In the course of shopping for a new 19" or 21" monitor for Photoshop 6 work, I
come up with many choices, including whether the monitor is Aperture Grille or
Shadow Mask. I am wondering what the pros and cons are of each technology.
(I am using PhotoCal with the colorimeter to calibrate and profile my monitor,
so I'd like a monitor that can best take advantage of my efforts to do
precise, accurate color management.)
Can anyone offer an opinion on which technology is better from the standpoint
of doing precise color work in Photoshop? I have heard that AG offers better
color, but SM is better for text display. True? If so, I would conclude that
AG would be best for PS work.
I am shopping in the $700-$900 range, looking in particular at:
Cornerstore p1500 or p1600, 21", Shadow Mask, .22 dot pitch
KDS AV-21TF, 21", Aperture Grille, .24 dot pitch
Any opinions on these two monitors? Other suggestions?
Thank you.
John.
