Yes, this is what I mean. A custom profile of the Epson/stock itself, from
which to simulate. Two different Epson reps told me this, but I haven't
seen it with my own eyes yet...
Cool! Do tell us when you actually see it with your own eyes will
you? - not that I don't totally believe Epson sales folks <g>
I think the correct term for the Epson profile in this arrangement
would be the output profile - or at least that's one perspective.
This is one point about this stuff where I agree with Henrik about UI
and language. In the color transformation the Press/Proof profile is
considered the input profile and the Epson profile is considered the
output. In the user's mind, in many cases the press profile is
considered the output profile as the press is the final destination.
Several application UI also confuse things here. Perhaps the folks at
Apple could write an addendum to the human interface guidelines that
would include terminology?
