I've photographed a lot of fine art paintings and have seen how useful it is
to include some Kodak Color Guides in the shot. Photo emulsions often
have difficulties with some colors and it's difficult to know if the
photographer's reproduction is accurate or not. Gray scales and color
patches do help. As far as the "3rd gray patch reads 113" thing goes, well
I think that's pushing the idea a bit too far.
