Anyone have a suggestion as to how to accomplish this in 6.0? I simply want

With thanks to Andrew who described all the Linocolor 5 issues here some
time ago - Lino 5 recognizes PS workspace profiles. You can save an RGB
Tiff in Lino 5 and you will be asked which profile should be used. PS
6 workspace profiles are available in the ColorSync profiles folder
(look for a folder named "recommended"). These profiles should
therefore be available to you when saving in Linocolor. Unfortunately
the files are not tagged by Lino 5 and hence not recognized when opened
in Photoshop. With PS 5 you would simply not convert the file when
presented with the Profile Mismatch. In PS 6 the logical approach would
be to Assign the Profile as you open the file since you don't want to
convert the data, just get the profile recognized.
Regarding the monitor preference. What you describe sounds like a back
door work around. Instead you should have a valid monitor profile, a
real monitor profile, not a PS workspace profile. In the monitor
preference where it asks for monitor type, use your current monitor
profile. Colors should be dead on between Lino and PS.
