Steve,

My raw files are 16-bit Lab, but LinoColor will not allow me to save out to
16-bit Lab only in 8-bit Lab (or RGB or CMYK). However, the program will do
an excelent transformation from 16-bit Lab to 8-bit ChooseYourColorSpace
while saving. 8-bit lab is way too large and full of holes (8-bit per
channel stretched over such a large gammut is full of holes) to be usfull
as an archiving space. Better to use a smaller 8-bit space that just
contains every used CMYK gammut. Large gammut CMYK (like for a Digital
Color Laser printer) would be ok, but I think that the extra channel (K) is
usless for describing color(device dependant) for repurposing to other CMYK
spaces. Furthermore, an RGB image is 25% smaller than its four channel
counterpart. Does this all make sense? Thanks for responding.

Sincerely,
