A monitor profile that doesn't map to white is probably best ignored.
I just wish they'd give users a clue when they do so. I can't find
any mention of the feature in the docs or the online help.

I was having the problem where ColorSync 2.6.1 System Profile was set to my
newest monitor profile, but PS 6.0 showing that an old monitor profile was
being used. Per someone on this list I looked into the Monitor control panel
and found that set the same as PS 6.0. So, apparently PS 6.0 refers to the
Monitor control panel and not to the ColorSync setting. Once I changed the
control panel. PS 6.0 was using the correct monitor profile.
