No, the image is a bit map and it's being sent via a Quickdraw driver.

So, someone, somewhere is making 1440 CMYK dots per inch out of the ~300 RGB dots per inch in your image. That's my point -- there is some sort of Raster Image Processing going on at some level, albeit NOT by a third-party RIP.
