With regards to : re: profiling 9500
re: Why don't drivers use a CMYK profile?

I've just run into my next big question: We are test driving Heidelberg's PrintOpen 4.0 (MAC) on our Roland CJ-500 6-ink printer (currently cmykOrGr - hex ink set). The basic premise we understood was we could profile our media as RGB for each print process and this would give us reasonably accurate output profiles for our third party media. The canned media profiles which came with the printer are all CMYK. The canned PANTONE. Hexachrome. Roland device profile is MCH6. The RGB profiles we create are not recognized by the Roland Colorchoice software RIP as output or input, so now we are back to CMYK, guesswork, lots of patchs, more conversions and limitations to our RGB output workflow.

We are not adverse to spending reasonable money to achieve results inhouse. Can anyone out there recommend a 6-ink/multichannel profiling package? (That perhaps works with the ColorSavvy CM2s spectro)
