LaCie/Mitsubishi

I've been following this thread and am about to purchase a monitor and
calibration system. First the monitor: is the Mitsubishi 22" Diamond Pro 2040u
Monitor the unit that the LaCie Electron 22 Blue is based on? If so, does
anyone know what the differences are? Any recommendations? As for the
calibrator, is there any advantage to using the Blue Eye calibrator with the
LaCie monitor? It seams that the consensus is that I would be better off with
the Monitor Spyder with OptiCal software. It's cheaper and I understand it is
more accurate and the software has more features. I have never used either of
these products and I'm wondering if it makes any difference how the monitor is
calibrated. I.e., by adjusting the monitor internally via the software. Which
is my understanding of how the Blue Eye works or (as I understand it) on the
Monitor Spyder by using the monitor control buttons to perform the
calibration.

Thanks,

Peter
