Colormatch is a conservative 1.8 gamma 5000K rgb space that even though a
more foolproof space in the terms of if the rgb image gets into the hands of
the unsavvy there's still the possibility that the resulting conversion will
be usable. Bruce rgb will get you better screen previews to a D65
calibration and include a larger gamut and better color mapping. Colormatch
was well suited for it's original purpose ie; when PS used monitor color
space for conversions.
Repeated conversions especially with different white points will degrade
image fidelity. Really to be avoided to hi res. pictures. For the web I'd
say okay as there is not really a standard of color yet even if sRGB is
implied.
The real recommendation in this case is to upgrade to PS 6 and avoid
changing the space from the prepress house.
