We use that printer for proofs to our clients and for our graphic design
department. I only use PS. I don't need to RIP anything. I work in RGB 16
bits all the time but I down size to CMYK 8 bits at the end. Then I print my
proof either in RGB or CMYK mode (need to do more testing on that). In the
Epson driver, I always give Epson control over PS (Check Printer Color...)
I just made the profile of my printer using WiziWyg software. It's a nice
under 100$ CAN product. But it doesn't do quite the job. I tried every way
to make a profile that comes close to my ColorMatch print (did it using ICC
profile) and it failed. Problems: I have a good 10% color shift and it
doesn't respect C100 M100 Y100 (it give me K100).
I have tried every imaginable ways of coming close to my ColorMatch and the
best result that I have right now is to adjust manually the color in my
Epson driver. It respect C100 M100 Y100 and I have a minor color shift. It
took me 20 prints to do it but it does the job for now. But still I want to
use ICC profile (going crazy???) because I believe in it. Please help...
