If you are restricted by budget, then you are pretty much at the limit of
what most lower level profiling packages can do up against the RGB driver
issue.

Another cheap solution would be to have Praxisoft do a profile for you
remotely. You print out the chart that they email you and send the results
to them. They will create a profile and email it back. If you need tweaking,
you can create a PhotoShop curve that does what you want and email it to
them. They will apply that curve and send you the adjusted profile.

But, if you are really serious about getting good color accurate proofs out
of your Epson, with channel control, then you need to be driving it with a
good RIP like the Mach1 or a comparable system. Make your profiles with
Wyziwig after that and I bet the results improve a lot. If not, then you
need to look at a higher level package (Praxisoft, Monaco, Greytag,
Colorblind etc) with an instrument to read the patches.
