Profiles in Epson 5000 EFI RIP

David Macy at EFI has told me that using RIP Station 1.3 you have no way to
identify the source profile of the Epson, though you can use a custom
profile as target, downloaded with ColorWise, as Dan said.

He also said that the Epson Color Calibrator can be used to calibrate the
Epson so it returns to factory settings, which is what is described in the
canned profile used (invisibly) as source in the RIP. And, of course, you
have to use the stocks used in the profile as well.

I've done some preliminary tests of this theory and the results are
mediocre. It bears more testing still.

I would think you could also use ColorSync or your app to manage the
transformation and avoid the in-RIP simulation altogether. Am I right?
Anyone know exactly how would one do this using Photoshop 5.02?
