I always assumed the Mitsubishi was a less expensive monitor.
Wow, where'd you get the LaCie's for that price? I've been investigating
the ViewSonic PF815 as a possible less expensive ($200 to $300 less)
alternative to the LaCie/Mitsubishi offerings. I believe the PF815 uses
the Diamontron NF picture tube
(
http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article.asp?aid=18074&pg=2). Most of the
other features, such as individual gun control and 4 corner purity
adjustment, seem similar to the more expensive brands. Resolution specs are
slightly different, but the differences are probably so minute, one
wouldn't notice them in production mode. Any opinions on the ViewSonic
PF815? (I know Andrew likes it.)
Here's something curious: When I inquired directly to ViewSonic concerning
which picture tube they use in the PF815, Diamondtron or Trinitron?, they
replied that the information was confidential. I found this odd in this
internet age of no secrets.
