Well after completing a year of making ICC profiles for all my devices Epson
9000, Roland FJ-52, Howtek D4500 Scanner, Better Light 6K scan Back, and
Nikon D1, I currently own the following Profile Packages.
PrintOpen 4.0 for PC
Scan Open 2.x for the Mac
Praxisoft Compass Profile Pro
Picto Color Synergy 4.5
Profile Maker 3.1.4 (just the DCAM module)
Xrite DTP41 non uv model.
BestColor 4.2.2 Rip's
What should I keep and what should I get rid of? In my un scientific tests,
I am getting my best results with Print Open 4.0 for Printer Profiles, Scan
Open for my Howtek, and Picto Color Synergy for my DCAM stuff.
As I have posted before in this forum, all I do is fine art repro, which I
guess in it's self is impossible to match a piece of art, but is there any
one combination of hardware / software that would be the best for what I do?
Or do you all get you to the 90% accurate range then you have to tweak the
rest?. After all the money and time I have spent, should I have just
purchased the Gretag Combo for like $10,000.00.
