I saw the new release of the MACH 1 RIP at DPI last week and was absolutely
blown away at its ease of use and intuitive interface. It sports an ICC
Autoflow front end mounted to an extremely mature and sophisticated RIP from
Ergosoft. Its Fast has superior dithering and has some very slick auto
nesting and duplication features. It already has drivers for most of the
popular large format printers and is by far the easiest to operate. I
witnessed several "novice" attendee's immediately pick up on how to use the
feature rich tool set.
ICC profiles are applied before the RIP and unlike most RIP's which convert
the ICC Data to a CRD and RIP, the ICC Autoflow front end allows the
document to be split into raster and vector elements so each can be
addressed with its own profile set in a true "color server" environment. It
also allows for use of Praxisoft's Vector Pallets to ensure accuracy of PMS
Colors. This RIP is definitely on the fast track to a Hot Product pick and
other RIP vendors should take notice. This RIP is very easy to use and has
an extremely eloquent GUI, I did not see it loose track of its dongle or
blow up the server and the ICC Profiles are not burried as an after thought
in some third level preference setting. If you need to apply ICC Profiles at
the RIP this product is everything Praxisoft has been promising and more.
