My advice would be to take a good look at the BESTColor RIP (NT version). It
offers support for ICC profiles (both source and destination) and gives you
very good control over print conditions such as ink limits (total and per
channel limits) and the ability to linearize the printer prior to profiling.
Can be daunting at first but gives you a bunch of control once you master
it. BESTColor comes in three sizes; Medium, XL and XXL, roughly equivalent
to 2 page, 4 page and 8 page and larger devices.
They do offer a Mac version (Designer Edition) but I'm not sure it's ready
for prime time yet and is missing some of the functionality of the NT
version. Run the BEST RIP under NT Server (or 2000 Server), install Services
for Macintosh and you'll have a great "Mac" RIP.
