Subject: Color Laser (Toner) variability
I'm looking for an article that discusses the variable accuracy &
inconsistency when printing to Color Laser (Toner) printers as contrasted
with Ink Jet printers when calibrating and profiling these devices in a
color managed workflow.
Thanks,
(Eh gads! I can't resist!)
Chapter 1
The Color Laser printer
"Profile and then re-linearize daily, Bob. Hourly if you have paying
clients. Just remember 'tomorrow is another day.'"
Chapter 2
The Ink Jet Printer
"Profile and then re-linearize monthly, Mary. Weekly if you have
paying clients. Just remember 'Badges? We don need no stinkin'
badges!'"
Chapter 3
The Web Press
"Don Carlo! Don Carlo! Phillipe jus loss hez finger in web six! What
should we do? What should we do?"
"You are a trained professional! Damn it! If it brightens the reds,
let it run! If it don't? Profile it anyway! This could be the secret
sauce in those private tag profiles Colorthink won't let us save as
text!"
The end
(Sorry...something in that query just got to me)
