I don't see a big difference so far...
Until we have a more level playing field, it's not an apples to apples
comparison yet. First of all we don't have completely software from
Gretag Macbeth yet. And there are no announcments from other profile
package vendors on support for the Gretag Macbeth Eye-One instrument. But
given that GM has the patents on this technology (emissive/reflective
spectrophotometer), and they are a bigger company, it stands to reason
that eventually there will be more support (and direct support at that)
in 3rd party products for the Eye-One.

profile monitors... I am soooo confused.
That is a different piece of hardware. It's an emissive spectrophotometer
only. What I find *very* provocative about it is that it's the dongle. So
as far as I've heard from Gretag Macbeth, it's effecitvely a site license
for monitor calibration and profiling. So if your organization has 10
machines (let alone 100), this is an extremely affordable solution.
So perhaps Color Vision will now decide to come up with an official
policy on site licensing that makes sense (right now there is no site
licensing per se).
