Guys
I've noticed when using a colleague's system that output profiles
edited with Kodak's CustomColor ICC 2.0 seems to have less
compatability with Photoshop 6 than with 5x.
Because 6 has the ability to display a file [with "monitor
compensation"] in pretty much any colorspace I guess it needs a
profile to "work" in both directions.
With Customcolor ICC 2.0 the user has the option to select
editing of the RGB> Lab transform or the Lab > RGB transform.
Editing the Lab > RGB transform works fine in Photoshop 5 [if
you don't mind working in the dark and doing a few test prints]
but wouldn't it be nice if Ps 6's softproofing could be used to
it's full advantage to allow a proper preview of the expected
result once in print.
Has anyone a workaround please?
I was wondering whether Colorvision's Doctor Pro 2 has a similar
behaviour [before I go ahead and buy a copy.] Does Doctor Pro
compare well with CustomColor ICC 2.0?
thanks very much
neilB
