David...
I trashed all ColorSync and Monitors preferences, restarted, and rebuilt the
desktop... but it didn't make a difference.
I also tried dropping aliases of the correct profiles into the "Display
Profiles" folder in the ColorSync folder, but that didn't do anything.
It's odd... The ColorSync 3.0.3 control panel can see the Optical profiles,
but the Monitors control panel cannot. It can however see Ekta Space, sRGB,
and some of the default Apple profiles.
I'm sure that if I re-profiled the monitors, the new profiles would show up
in Monitors. That's happened before on clean installs of the system. I
didn't have time to deal with it then, so I just created new profiles and
moved on.
I assume from your comment that you've successfully copied Optical profiles
from one system folder to another and had them work?
I know that some applications won't let you copy extensions and preference
files to a new system. You get a dialog box saying that the app wasn't
properly installed and you have to reinstall from the original CD.
Can you think of anything else I should try?
Thanks for your help...
Doug
