We recently ran into a situation where we saw a difference between Adobe RGB 1998 - shipped with Photoshop 5/5.5 and
Adobe RGB 1998 shipped with Photoshop 6. We had been using PS 5 on our Linocolor Saphir work station, also using
ColorMatch rgb. When we upgraded to PS 6 we changed color working space to Adobe rgb 1998. After installing and PS 6 we
deleted PS 5 only to discover that Linocolor plug-in does not work proprerly in PS 6 in that it does not keep the
settings, such as color sync profile settings and they have to be reset every time. (There is still no update higher than
1.09 avalable on Linocolors site. ) So Photoshop 5 was reinstalled. We did however set it up for Adobe RGB 1998. All
conversions to working cmyk were done on a different machine running PS 6. What we encountered was that all photos had an
extremely magenta cast, so much so that it could not be corrected in curves. My guess is that when we reinstalled PS5 the
Adobe RGB 1998 (one that PS 6 installed was over written by Adobe RGB 1998 (one shipped with PS5. Any comments or others
that have run into a simular situation?
