I generally find that the grade of Laser copier RIPs in copy shops can use a
CMYK profile, and usually have some way to apply it in the RIP. Office lasers
are a different story, with Tektronic seeming to be the most convenient to
profile as CMYK devices. Splash RIPs, in my experience, are least profilable,
but that may have to do with the age of the ones I've run across. RGB
profiling lacks certain advantages of CMYK profiling, like dealing with CMYK
documents... and so is a last resort.
