I would beg to differ there Mr. Tobie. . .
sRGB and Apple RGB have a very similar overall gamut (according to 2D
Grapher) with the same white point but differing gammas (Apple RGB is 1.8
while sRGB is 2.2). But ColorMatch RGB is quite a bit different from either
sRGB or Apple RGB. Not necessarily better, but quite a bit different.
ColorMatch will have a slightly better cyan (86% max compared to sRGB or
Apple RGB of about 78% max) but ColorMatch RGB has a lower blue gamut
component than either.
As for Newsprint, I'm assuming CMYK Newsprint? Adobe RGB is probably the
best "all round color space" to use in most photographic situations
including newsprint unless you have a huge legacy image collection that is
already in say ColorMatch RGB. If you don't, and you are starting from
ground zero, I would go with Adobe RGB.
