I suspect there are two reasons why the additional UV produces a good image.
One, as you suggested, the violet light from the UV illumination compliments
the green cast. Two, the UV illumination activates the paper brightener to
cancel out the yellow cast. It is quite probable that both effects are working
here to your advantage, Dan.
