One of my monitors just died, so I have been studying the choices for
replacement. I went through all the archives, and have come to the
conclusion that I need something with the most individual controls. The Sony
GDM-F520 seems to be the best choice for under $2000. I based this on it's
ability to separately adjust RGB gain and bias, and its .22 mm pitch. Does
anyone know of a reason this is not a good choice for a high-end retouching
station?
I also looked at the LaCie Electron Blue, but the blue color of the surround
goes against everything I was ever taught about color viewing. They give you
a viewing hood to block out unwanted reflections, and then contaminate the
viewing area with a blue colored surround. Just doesn't make sense to me,
unless I missing something here.
